GOD WILL RESTORE THE YEARS
All the Promises of God are Yes and Amen
Joel 2:25 “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.”
Reflection
One of the enemy’s greatest weapons is theft. Jesus said that the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Sometimes the enemy steals opportunities. Sometimes he steals peace. Sometimes he steals joy. Sometimes he steals time.
Many people carry regrets about the years they feel were wasted.
Years lost to poor decisions.
Years lost to sickness.
Years lost to broken relationships.
Years lost to fear.
Years lost to addiction.
Years lost to spiritual wandering.
When they look backward, all they can see is what was lost. But God specializes in restoration. Notice that Joel does not merely say God will restore blessings.
He says God will restore years.
Only God can do that. No human being can recover lost time. No amount of money can buy back yesterday. No amount of effort can re-live the past. But God can restore what was lost within those years.
He can restore opportunities.
He can restore relationships.
He can restore purpose.
He can restore joy.
He can restore peace.
He can restore fruitfulness.
And often He does it in ways that exceed what was originally lost.
Think about Job.
The enemy stole his possessions, his health, and his family stability. Yet when God restored him, his latter days were greater than his former days.
Think about Peter.
After denying Jesus, he must have felt like he had ruined everything. Yet God restored him and used him mightily to help launch the Church.
Think about the prodigal son.
He wasted his inheritance and years of his life. Yet the Father welcomed him home and restored him.
The same God is working today.
Perhaps you look back and see lost years. God looks forward and sees restored purpose.
Perhaps you see failure. God sees redemption.
Perhaps you see what has been taken. God sees what He is about to rebuild.
Your story is not over. The enemy does not get the final word. God does. And His word over your life is restoration.
What feels lost today is not beyond His power to redeem. The Lord is able to restore the years.
Activation
Today, surrender every regret, disappointment, and lost opportunity to the Lord.
Stop rehearsing what was lost and begin thanking God for what He is restoring.
Ask Him to show you where His hand has already been at work bringing healing, growth, wisdom, and new opportunities into your life.
As you move through your day, focus on God’s future more than your past.
Speak this aloud:
“God is restoring the years. My past does not define me. The Lord is redeeming my story and bringing restoration into every area of my life.”
Prayer
Father God, I thank You that You are the God of restoration. Jesus, thank You that no loss, failure, regret, or disappointment is beyond Your power to redeem. Holy Spirit, heal every wounded place within my heart and help me release the pain of the past into Your hands. Restore what has been broken, rebuild what has been damaged, and bring new life where there has been loss. I thank You that You are restoring purpose, joy, peace, and fruitfulness to my life. Help me trust Your goodness and believe that my greatest days are still ahead because of Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Amen! God is restoring the years. My past does not define me.
The Lord is redeeming my story.
The Lord is bringing restoration into every area of my life and family!
Amen! I receive it. I believe it. 🙌
